Called to Serve

The time has arrived when another Glenn would serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. Loren received his mission call to serve in Berlin, Germany. Tanner and I had the opportunity to share this special day with Loren as he went into the MTC.

July 9th: The Big Day.
He does know how to tie a tie. Look at him, he's all grown up.

We arrived at the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah where he will be taught the German language and how to share the gospel with others. How exciting!

Missionary Pose.

As you can see in these pictures below, it is very hard to get all 3 guys to do the same pose at the same time. We should throw rocks at them.

Walking across the street to the MTC.

We made it! Yay!

Taking our last few pictures outside.

Priceless.

The mother putting her son's tag on. I love this picture.

Now it's official, he is a missionary!

Have fun Loren, see you in two years!

This day was a day of mixed emotions. We were excited for Loren in taking this step in wanting to share the gospel, but also sad we wont be able to see him for two years. What an exciting and rewarding step to take in life. We will miss him.

It’s so wonderful to have missionaries sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ in all parts of the world. The two years of their lives they give to the Lord is a sacrifice to most, but if we think about what Jesus Christ has given to us and how much he continues to bless us everyday then two years isn't enough. I would encourage all of us to share the gospel with others not only by what we say, but through example.
