Fourth of July Weekend

For the Fourth of July weekend, Tanner and I had a blast. Some of our family came up to hang out at our house in Logan and celebrate the holiday.

My brother, Mitch, the family Automotive Technician (a.k.a. mechanic) came up and if you don’t know him you should. He has his own business in Orem for all of you in need of an honest person to fix your car. From Tanner's side his mom, Aunt Nicea, and Uncle Fred came up. His brothers Duncan and Loren were there too.

July 3rd

When everyone arrived, we went out to eat at a yummy Mexican restaurant. We chatted, and caught up and chatted some more. Finally it was dark and I was excited to watch the fireworks.

Tanner and I really love Logan, but there are a few things that we don’t understand and one of them is having the fireworks on July 3rd and not the 4th. Maybe if anyone knows you can enlighten us.

Anyways, we all headed up to Utah State University to find a place for the firework show. While we were driving, of course, the fireworks started and were exploding in the air. I was anxious to get there so I kept telling Tanner to drive faster and to take the corners a little sharper. I think he was shocked because normally I'm like “Tanner slow down, you’re driving too fast!” Yay we made it and even got to watch the finale!

July 4th

It was the fourth and we weren't going to any concerts so we needed to rock out on Rock Band.

Duncan was especially good at the drums. At one point, he was rockin out so hard and becoming one of those head bangin rock stars on the drums that one of those delicate drum sticks broke. His face was priceless as he held the two pieces ever so gently in his hands and said, “I broke your drum stick.” Don’t worry, we forgive you. Now all of us have to play with the short stick, but we really forgive you. ;)

Later we went to catch a movie, WALL-E, at the theaters. Everyone seemed to enjoy the movie. It was very intriguing and had a funny message behind it. After the movie, we said our good byes to Nicea and Fred who had to go back home.

Everyone wanted to get out and to be more active so we started throwing water balloons at each other. Angry feelings started to come out and I knew it was going to be brutal so we changed it up and had a little competition with a balloon toss. Humm…lets see I think it was me and Duncan who won. It could have been Tanner and Mitch but I can’t remember so let’s just say that me and Duncan won.

After getting wet, we played a little softball.

Tanner was notorious for hitting line drives to the pitchers who weren't wearing gloves.

Tanner was obviously thinking more about golf than softball.

Mitch was notorious for hitting the most home-runs and outfield hits.

Shawn was notorious for her mad pitching skillz. Look at that form.

Duncan was notorious for saying ouch after hitting a ball and rubbing his hands.

Loren was also notorious for his pitching skills and also being brave to pitch to Tanner even when the ball came 2 inches away from his head.

I was notorious for catching almost every ball that was hit to me. Muuuwahahahah!

July 5th

This day was the Cache Valley Cruise-in for Logan. This is a time when everyone would show off their restored cars. There were a lot of older model cars fixed up, some rare cars, and also a few fancy ones too. There were so many beautiful cars.

I like red cars!

Tanner, Duncan, Loren, and Shawn posing on the pistachio car.

Mitch checking out the insides.

Back to the Future car!!!

Kaylan (Tanner's cousin) and Natalie Johnson came up to visit the car show with us. This is Kaylan beside his favorite car.

This truck would be fun to ride in.

Everyone gave the OOOoooo's and AAaaahhhh's to this car. So I took a picture of it. Whatever it is...

Later that day, Main St. was closed for the owners to drive their sweet looking restored cars down. They would reeve up the engine and show it off. We didn't love the heat, but it was fun to watch the cars drive by.

This car was cool because it had flames.

We are so blessed to have our freedoms in America, and I am thankful for this special holiday and the people that came to celebrate it with us. Thank you and we love you!

Another fun post, Autumn. I'm sorry that Tanner was gone and you had to be alone but if it gave you time to put up all these fun posts, I'm glad he left!!
